Pro Tips
Wondering how CGPA is calculated? Use this free grade calculator to compute CGPA from subject grades and credit hours. Enter your marks, see the formula, and get instant results for 10-point Indian, 4.0 US, Pakistan HEC, and percentage-based grading systems.
Formula
CGPA = Σ(Grade Point × Credit Hours) ÷ Σ(Credit Hours)
This is how CGPA is calculated at most Indian universities — each subject grade point is multiplied by credits, then divided by total credits.
Example: How to calculate CGPA for 4 subjects
- Math: A (10 points) × 4 credits = 40
- Physics: B+ (9 points) × 3 credits = 27
- Chemistry: A (10 points) × 3 credits = 30
- English: B (8 points) × 2 credits = 16
- Total: 113 points ÷ 12 credits
CGPA = 9.42 (First Class with Distinction)
