Final Grade Calculator — What Score Do You Need?

Formula

Required Final Score = (Target Grade - Current Weighted Grade) ÷ Final Exam Weight

Current weighted grade = sum of (assignment score × weight) for all completed work.

Example: Target grade B (80%)

  1. Current coursework average: 72% (weight: 60%)
  2. Contribution so far: 72 × 0.60 = 43.2
  3. Needed from final (40% weight): 80 - 43.2 = 36.8
  4. Required final exam score: 36.8 ÷ 0.40

You need 92% on the final exam to get 80% overall
