What Is Merit Aggregate?

Engineering and competitive universities worldwide combine **school grades and entrance test scores** into one weighted percentage — your **admission aggregate**. Cutoffs change every year.

Examples by Region

| Region | Typical components ||--------|-------------------|| Pakistan (NUST/UET) | Matric + Inter + NET/ECAT || India (JEE/state) | Class 12 + entrance exam || US | GPA + SAT/ACT (holistic review) |

Use our calculator with **presets or custom weights** for any formula.

NUST (NET) Weights

| Component | Weight ||-----------|--------|| Matric / SSC | 10% || Intermediate | 15% || NET Entry Test | 75% |

**Formula:** Aggregate = (Matric% × 0.10) + (Inter% × 0.15) + (NET% × 0.75)

UET (ECAT) Weights

| Component | Weight ||-----------|--------|| Matric | 25% || Intermediate | 45% || ECAT | 30% |

FAST-NU Weights

| Component | Weight ||-----------|--------|| Matric | 10% || Intermediate | 40% || FAST Test | 50% |

Example: NUST Aggregate

  • Matric: 950/1100 = **86.36%**
  • Inter: 900/1100 = **81.82%**
  • NET: 145/200 = **72.5%**

  • Aggregate: (86.36×0.10) + (81.82×0.15) + (72.5×0.75) = 75.29%
