Why 75% Attendance Matters

Universities worldwide enforce **minimum attendance** (often 75% in India & Pakistan, varies in US/UK). Falling below can mean exam debarment — even with good grades.

By Region

  • **India / Pakistan:** Typically 75% minimum for semester exams
  • **US / UK:** Varies by course — check your syllabus (often 80% for labs)
  • **Online programs:** May track participation differently

  • The Attendance Formula

    Attendance % = (Classes Attended ÷ Total Classes Held) × 100

How Many Classes Can You Miss?

If you are **above** 75%, you can calculate allowed absences:

    Can miss = ⌊Attended ÷ 0.75 − Total⌋

**Example:** 40 total classes, 32 attended = 80% attendance. You can miss **2 more** classes before dropping below 75%.

    Below 75%? How to Recover

If attendance is low, you need consecutive attendance:

    Classes needed = ⌈(0.75 × Total − Attended) ÷ 0.25⌉

**Example:** 40 total, 28 attended (70%). You need **8 consecutive classes** with no absences to reach 75%.

    Pro Tips
