GPA (Grade Point Average)

  • **Used mainly in:** USA, Canada
  • **Scale:** Usually 4.0 or 5.0
  • **Calculation:** Average of grade points for a single term

  • SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average)

  • **Used mainly in:** India, Asia
  • **Scale:** Usually 10.0
  • **Calculation:** Grade point average for ONE semester only

  • CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average)

  • **Scale:** Usually 10.0
  • **Calculation:** Average across ALL semesters

  • Converting Between Systems


    **4.0 GPA to 10.0 CGPA:** CGPA = GPA × 2.5


    **10.0 CGPA to 4.0 GPA:** GPA = CGPA × 0.4
